Laboratory Mission

Development of new approaches to increasing the effectiveness of targeted therapy and overcoming drug resistance in oncological diseases, primarily in non-small cell lung cancer.

Scientific direction

Lung cancer remains one of the leading causes of cancer death worldwide. Despite significant progress in the field of targeted therapy, the effectiveness of treatment is often limited by the development of resistance of tumor cells to antitumor drugs. Studying the mechanisms of the formation of drug resistance and finding ways to overcome it are among the key tasks of modern oncology.

Laboratory research is focused on the study of molecular mechanisms of tumor growth and resistance to therapy, as well as on the development of new combined approaches to the treatment of non-small cell lung cancer. Special attention is paid to the search for compounds capable of enhancing the action of target drugs, to the study of the role of mitochondria in the survival and death of tumor cells, and to the development of new methods of selective impact on tumor tissue.

To solve these problems, modern experimental models are used, including three-dimensional cell cultures, organoid systems and tumor models in vivo. One of the promising directions is the use of pulse-field ablation in combination with drug therapy to increase the effectiveness of antitumor treatment.

General tasks

Study of drug resistance of tumor cells.

Search for new therapeutic targets and potential antitumor compounds.

Investigation of the role of mitochondria and cell metabolism in the response of tumor cells to therapy.

Development and optimization of combined approaches, including targeted therapy and physical methods of impact on tumors.

Evaluation of the effectiveness of new therapeutic strategies in cellular, organoid and animal models.

Methods

The laboratory uses a wide range of modern methods of cell and molecular biology, including flow cytometry, confocal and electron microscopy, gene and protein expression analysis, assessment of cell metabolism and viability, as well as genome editing technologies.

Equipment

The laboratory is equipped with modern equipment for conducting research in the field of cellular and molecular biology. The infrastructure allows you to perform a full cycle of work — from cell cultivation and conducting experiments on animal models to molecular analysis and high-resolution microscopy. Key features include working with cell cultures, gene and protein analysis, fluorescent, confocal and electron microscopy.
