Services of Laboratory of Histochemistry and Electron Microscopy

To the attention of those in need of these services!
Starting from the second point of services, it is preferable to provide services in the form of including laboratory researchers in the list of executors of a scientific grant or with the design of joint scientific articles for publication in significant scientific journals.
This request does not apply to the first point.

  1. Diagnostic microscopic consultations of histological slides of biopsies of human organs and tissues (in the form of the first, second, third opinion).
    The quality of diagnostic investigation can also be guaranteed by Tigran H. Ghevondyan - who has many years of experience as a doctor-diagnostician and researcher in Germany, at the R. Virchow Institute of Pathology(Mecca of Medicine), Faculty of Medicine Charite, Humboldt University of Berlin; Scientific degree of Doctor of Medicine in pathological anatomy, fluency in Armenian, Russian, English, German, possession of the best modern medical pathanatomical diagnostic encyclopedic literature.
    No grants or joint publications are required for this item.

  2. Preparation of histological slides from organs and tissues of experimental animals with subsequent interpretation of the microscopic picture for research purposes
    . In the laboratory, the following methods of histological and histochemical staining of sections have been established and are currently working:
    • Hematoxylin - eosin
    • According to Van Gieson for collagen fibers
    • According to Van Gieson with fuchselin on elastica
    • PAS procedure after McManus for glycogen
    • Crezyl Violet Method for Nissl Substance for nervous tissue
    • Perls Iron Stain
    • Congo-Red Method for Amyloid
    • Methylene blue for semithin plastic sections
    At the request of the customer, other methods can be deployed and applied in the laboratory.
  3. Preparation of educational histological slides for the course of histology, pathological anatomy for medical and biological faculties of universities, colleges in Armenia and abroad.

  4. Conducting microscopic studies in the polarized light mode.

  5. Embedding small pieces of biological tissues into synthetic resins for subsequent examination of ultrathin sections by transmission electron microscopy.

  6. Preparation of semi-thin sections and thin semi-thin sections (the latter according to the author's patented original method).

  7. Macrophotography, large field microphotography, microphotography of biological samples, histological, semi-thin preparations, photography in polarized light mode.

  8. Carrying out morphometric and stereological studies using the IMAGE J2x computer program, as well as special authorized eyepiece grids.

It is planned to expand the presented list with new original methods.
